EXPANDING OUR FOOTPRINT
RCOP IS HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE A NEW EXPANSION PROJECT
The newly acquired property to the east of RCOP, will be developed for outdoor growing in 3 phases.
For 2021, Phase 1 development started on over 4 acres which includes the walkways, bioswales, retention detention area and 1.85 acres of actual outdoor production space for growing mum and fall components.
During the developmental stage, consistency, efficiency, and the surrounding environment were key factors in the planning. The introduction of bioswales along with the retention detention area, will help prevent runoff and erosion by keeping the water on the property. The growing zones were created to be more consistent in size making planting, watering, and picking for deliveries more efficient.
Our #2 mum production has increased from 2020 to 2021 by 40% and our new 12” mums have increased by 50%.
By the completion of phase 3, the planned outside growing space will be sitting on about 6 of the newly acquired 15 acres and will produce roughly 75,000 #2 mums.
The production staff has worked very hard these past few months to get the area prepped, planted, and spaced and now we are in full fall production mode!
